Cupcake Hunt

I think being an event planner or owning a cupcake bakery would be dream jobs.

This past weekend, I was in DC and had the chance to spend Friday afternoon looking for some cupcakes in Georgetown.

First stop, Georgetown Cupcake. We showed up at like 2pm and they were already out of most flavors. We got our hot little hands on some Lemon Blossom and various chocolate ones. Then it was off to Baked & Wired where I tried one of their Strawberry cupcakes. More of a cake than cupcake but it was sooo yummy!

I'd love to open a bakery and bake cupcakes to my heart's content, so.....if anyone has ideas of a great location to open it, has lots of disposable income to donate, or knows how to bake...Let me know!!! :)

And thanks to Lelaine for even driving over to CakeLove and offering to stop! Just not enough time. Next time though!!!

Back in the Big Apple

I had various work meetings with people in the Jersey City office this week, so it just made sense for me to spend the week in NY. It was great because I stayed in Manhattan (a quick and easy 10 minute commute to work...except when you have luggage or when it's raining and you slip on an escalator!) and got to spend my evenings after work hanging out with Michelle! So nice to catch up, grab dinner (sushi, mexican, and then italian), and just relax at her place and watch American Idol even if it was just for a short 3 days.

Chinese New Year - Craft Time!

Anyone who knows me knows that I *love* arts and crafts. So when I was leaving Singapore, I came across a shop that sold prepackaged kits with supplies to create lanterns out of red envelopes. Of course I couldn't resist and picked up 2 packs to bring home and put together with the family for the New Year.

And of course, I was met with some resistance from my family, but in the end...they enjoyed putting it together and seeing the end product!

I had picked the 2 easiest projects and now looking back, I wish I had bought more!!! Looks like I will be scouring the internet next year to find more for us to do :)
