Tiffany’s, maker of the Superbowl trophy, held an unveiling event of this year’s Lombardi Trophy and we went and checked it out. Breakfast at Tiffany’s…with the Superbowl trophy, some ex-NFLers, and lots of Superbowl ring bling too.
Since Ryan and I were going to be out of town the actual weekend of the game, we made it downtown two different times – one to check out the stadium and one visit Superbowl Village. Sadly though, we weren’t able to get tickets for the zipline. Its ok though - Even though we had a really ‘warm’ week that week, I still think it would have been too cold for me on a zipline down 2 city blocks :)
The Sunday before the Superbowl, Ryan and I volunteered at the stadium placing seat covers on about 1/2 of the stadium. It was a good way to help the city out as well as see the stadium as it was getting decked out for the Giants and the Patriots. Figured this was the closest we’d get to an actual seat since we weren’t going to spend $3,000 per seat on StubHub.
And we figured the whole experience wouldn’t be complete without going to check out the NFL Experience. The convention center was filled with all things NFL – replica locker rooms, football making demonstrations, a fake draft stage where you could hold up your team’s jersey in front of the podium, training camps for kids, and tons of football events for fans to try out like kicking a field goal, throwing past cutout defenders that moved, running out and catching a long pass, etc… I won’t even post the video of me attempting the field goal kick from the TWENTY! Ryan of course nailed his kick from the f-o-u-r-t-y!
So that was all before Superbowl weekend. Actual game weekend, Ryan and I were in NYC for Bryan and Tara’s wedding. Sadly, I didn’t get any pictures from the wedding…or the weekend…except for 2! God, Tebow, and Shake Shack :)
If I ever move to NYC, I should be banned from the C-line. I was in that line THREE times in one weekend.
